Upload speed is not great, but I’m resigned to the fact that none of these vendors have good upload speed, except maybe https://www.sugarsync.com/, which I use as well, but only for most critical data because it’s too expensive for all of my stuff.

While looking for good free backup solution for my sister this weekend, I came across a fantastic deal. As a full-time I.T. solution guy, I have looked at a lot of online backup products over the last few years. I stumbled upon a new player in the game (maybe they are not new, but new to me) and I was shocked! Nothing I have seen comes close to the storage capacity / cost ratio of BeeCloud! Skeptical, I signed my sister up for the free 512GB account – THAT IS NOT A TYPO, yes, it’s free and yes, it’s 512GB (and unlimited computes can use that space.) But it doesn’t stop there; they have an unlimited backup for $29.99 A YEAR!!!! Wow. They have other plans with different features, but the for most people these two plans are more than enough.

Still skeptical, I downloaded and installed the software on my sister’s PC and it was a breeze. The software has one quirky thing to it, in that you can’t add directories on the right window panel, you must use the left one (took me few tries to figure that out.) Still, the quality seemed decent and the status window that popped up from the System Tray icon was very responsive and showed adequate information.

All in all, I can’t believe this deal. I currently use Carbonite, but I am going to test this one and might switch permanently if it works as well as it seems to. I recommend you give this a shot!!

Although, historically, I’ve been a huge fan of listening to my favorite kind of music, METAL, but more recently, I’ve found a really interesting niche of classical that seems to help me focus even more:

It’s uplifting and from time to time I feel like Matthew Broderick in Wargames programming the next doomsday machine (that just happens to start with Hello World!), and even if I am struggling to build a new 837 5010 generator using C#, it seems to keep my stress level a tad lower (as can be expected with a ridiculous amount of work to do and approaching deadlines.)

So, that’s my say on the subject. Nothing like compiling source code that works a stanza or two of the The Imperial March.

To recap:

1. We ate some scrumptuous NY style pizza (cheapest meal we’ve had yet)
2. Walked at least a half-marathon
3. Had some guy first try to sell us stand-up comedy tickets, and then proposition us to come try out a swingers club (complete with mulitiple floors….the top floor was only for 4 or more)
4. Watched the naked cowboy
5. Saw THE tree
6. Shopped at H&M at 9 o’clock at night WHILE listening to a pretty rockin LIVE DJ (props to Morsy)
7. Oh, and had quite an adevnture on the NY subway (almost got on the train going to the wrong way, but thanks to my Ninja cat-like reflexes, we were saved)

And then came Redcliffe…..I play games to do just that…PLAY GAMES. If I wanted a test of my mental toughness, or how perfectly I could execute a plan of battle (as well as make sure I gather the ultimate set of resources), I’d join the Marines. I HATE it when games go from mildy tough and enjoyable, to so hard, that I have no backtracked several hours into my character using old saves, to gather what I thought was my missing resources, and I still am getting my butt whooped. It’s not even close.

I might as well go back to playing Bad Company 2 until Battlefield 3 comes out. It seems that game makers are never going to make games for the casual gamer – only for those people that play games so much that they don’t have a life.

Damn.

Oh, and I’m not the only one that feels this way.

I cried like a baby. I’ve loved the whole series, but the last two seasons have just gotten better and better. The ending was picture perfect. Way to go Hollywood. You got this one right. And though, the crew is the best, Piven plays his absolute best here. Just at the most pivotal moments, he goes from the insanely driven power driver of a actor’s management character….to a real man, that loves his family more than anything else.
