Dragon Age: Origins…another good game, gone bad….

I can’t believe it…I really can’t believe it. I thought I had found my next great game, but it looks like I am wrong. I was so excited the first few hours I played it. The game has such great graphics and gameplay, I was already prepared to buy II before I even finished the first one. In fact, I’m playing two different characters at the same time.

And then came Redcliffe…..I play games to do just that…PLAY GAMES. If I wanted a test of my mental toughness, or how perfectly I could execute a plan of battle (as well as make sure I gather the ultimate set of resources), I’d join the Marines. I HATE it when games go from mildy tough and enjoyable, to so hard, that I have no backtracked several hours into my character using old saves, to gather what I thought was my missing resources, and I still am getting my butt whooped. It’s not even close.

I might as well go back to playing Bad Company 2 until Battlefield 3 comes out. It seems that game makers are never going to make games for the casual gamer – only for those people that play games so much that they don’t have a life.

Damn.

Oh, and I’m not the only one that feels this way.

That's hilarious. I remember that. (I know I'm super late reading this post, lol) but Redcliffe is all about how crafty you can be and your ability to kite the mobs back to the guards up top :P It took me like 30 minutes the first time but it was hilarious because straight kiting and leading them back to the mob of friendly NPC's. Keep your distance and run around in circles dodging everything until the NPC's finish them off. It's definitely a beat down the first time, lol. Especially as a melee character, but you gotta do what you gotta do even if that means letting the NPC's fight the mobs for you :P

Play the sheep dog and herd them to the NPCS up top, lmao. After you get past that part, the game is easy!

Actually, I finished most of it without their help, just by leading them up the hill (the zombies got confused and so started coming up one at a time....my point was easy or hard.) Oh, and I went and made 30 Lyrium potions and used the crap out of them. What I want is a game that rewards me if I can beat a hard portion the first couple of times, but if I fail badly enough or enough times, it gets easier just so that I can get through. I HATE boss levels - always have. I love to blow crap up and explore, but I wish videos did not have boss levels.
